Work Conditions:

Level 1 Landscape Technician
Little to no experience: starting wage $20 per hour
Summary:
The Landscape Technician 1 is responsible for performing a variety of work tasks (generally physical labour) in order to assist with the completion of landscape construction projects. The landscape labourer will be required to operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry out specified job tasks.

Job Duties:
- Assist in the preparation of jobsites prior to the beginning of a project
- Operate various tools and equipment
- Planting trees & shrubs
- Laying sod and spreading soil
- Assist with irrigation and landscape lighting installation
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required to complete landscape construction projects
- Transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies, and hand lifting/carrying
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
- Comply with all company policies and regulations
- Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- Non smoker
- Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner

Level 2 Landscape Technician
Minimum 2 years’ experience: Starting wage $25 per hour
Summary:
The Landscape Level 2 Technician is responsible for a variety of job tasks (including physical labour) in order to assist with the completion of landscape construction projects. Job responsibilities also include training, utilizing various hand tools, power tools, and equipment to carry out specified job duties.

Job Duties:
- Assist with the installation and construction of various hardscapes
- Understand basic irrigation installation principles
- Plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and bulbs
- Cart and spread topsoil and other required materials
- Lay sod or seed; grading (soil); and tree staking
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and other necessary equipment to complete job tasks
- Move and transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, power carts, skid steers, and manual lifting
- Conduct daily safety inspections of tools and equipment
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
- Comply with all company policies and regulations
- Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
- Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the construction of rock gardens, decks, fieldstone paths, stone garden walls, fences, ornamental ponds, fountains and waterfalls, retaining walls, and interlocking brick
- Ability to survey and assess designated sites
- Competent in the use of power tools (quick cut saws, chain saws, plate tampers, power wheel barrows, skills saws, sod cutter, sprayer or duster, rototiller, drills, etc.)
- Physically fit with strong stamina
- Basic measurement and calculation skills
- Ability to follow safe working procedures
- Intergrade and perform Safe Operating Procedures
- Excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation

Level 3 Landscape Technician
3-5 years’ experience in the landscape industry: Starting wage $30 per hour
Summary:
The Landscape Technician is responsible for a variety of job tasks (including physical labour) in order to assist with the completion of landscape construction projects. Job responsibilities also include training and utilizing various hand tools, power tools, and equipment to carry out specified job duties.

- Plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and bulbs
- Lay sod or seed; grading (soil); and tree staking
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and other necessary equipment to complete job tasks
- Conduct daily safety inspections of tools and equipment
- Follow directions from foreman
- Complete daily paperwork tracking job time and material costs
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
- Comply with all company policies and regulations
- Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
- Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner
Requirements:
